30-year-old gets petty revenge on 33-year-old sister-in-law: 'Mom says you're 30 now and that's OLD!'

Is turning 30 a big deal? It depends who you ask, because for some people, it's totally life-changing. The big milestone makes them reevaluate their whole life, asking life's important questions, like "Can I ever afford to live without 3 roommates?" and "Should I adopt a dog, or is that too much responsibility?" At this age, some people are settling down and getting married, ready to have a white picket fence and 2.5 kids. Others of us are watching movies and goofing around, with no plans of maturing in sight. 

In the grand scheme of things, 30 isn't exactly old. Sure, your 20s are over. But you're probably still physically fit, maybe you have a career going steadily, and you probably know a lot more about what your ultimate life goals are. However, this person dislikes her brother's wife — they never get along — and the wife is really projecting her own fears about aging onto the birthday girl. The sister-in-law told her 4-year-old to deliver a message to this person as she celebrated her 30th. She seems totally unpleasant to be around, and hopefully, by the time this person has their 35th or 40th birthday parties, they'll be surrounded by loved ones who are much happier to celebrate another year with them.
